A blue shark hunts for prey.

Blue sharks like to feed on a variety of fish, squid, shrimp and crabs. They live in tropical waters and can have anywhere from 25 to over 100 offspring called pups. Females are larger than males and can grow up to 12 feet and weigh 450 pounds.

The blue color is darker on the top of the body, with white underneath. The blue shark prefers to hunt in groups. At times, the younger of the species can be eaten by older sharks. Killer whales are their main predator. The blue shark’s scientific name is Prionace glauca.
