Klein Marine Systems (KMS), the world leading manufacturer of high-quality side scan sonars, will be hosting a three (3) day side scan sonar training event at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye Beach, New Hampshire. The event runs June 20-22 from 9-6pm daily.
For this year’s training, Klein has selected veteran side-scan expert Vince Capone of Black Laser Learning, Inc. (BLL) to deliver instruction throughout the program. Capone has operated Klein systems since the mid-1980s and has previously worked as a contracted instructor.
The curriculum is geared to both beginner and advanced side scan sonar operators, and provides two (2) full days in the classroom, followed by one (1) on-water training with Klein Sonars. Training topics shall provide the participant a sound understanding of side scan sonar image creation and analysis. Other topics shall include noise and interference, anomalies, general sonar imagery review, as well as navigation and field operations. The course is appropriate for all side scan sonar operators, including Hydrographers, First Responders, Police and Fire Fighters, Marine Surveyors, UXO SAR & Salvage Operators, ecologists, and Habitat Mapping Specialists.
