The three-day sonar training course provides an intensive look into all aspects of interpreting and conducting sonar surveys.The course is structured for beginners as well as experts by starting with the developing a sound foundation in the principles then expanding into advanced topics. The course will include new user-controlled 3D graphics to better explain the relationship between towfish location and image formation. The course will include:

The Instructor, Vincent J. Capone, M. Sc. has over 20 years sonar experience with all types of sonar systems in almost every type of environment. He has operated sonars in as little as 5 feet of water and conducted operations in over 10,000 as well. Field accomplishments include finding America's oldest intact warship, locating submerged hazardous waste containers for the USEPA,assisting the U.S. Navy with underwater search operations after the space shuttle Columbia crash, locating the German submarine U-215 as well as acting as a side scan sonar instructor for numerous organizations.
Vince has been a diver for over 30 years and a small ROV pilot for over 20. The ability to examine his sonar targets has provided great comparisons of what you see on the sonar and how the target looks in the water. pilot giving him giving him the experience of seeing his sonar targets.
Vince has a master's degree in Marine Science and has taught at the Isle of Shoals marine Lab and Dowling College. He is a frequent lecturer at Stockton College and has created training programs for the U.S. Navy and Black laser Learning. His side scan sonar training credits include:
